Aldrick Robinson Touchdown

Aldrick Robinson flashed big play ability in limited playing time last season. If it wasn’t for a big drop vs the St Louis Rams in week two and a concussion injury in a freak collision with safety Brandon Meriweather before the Tampa Bay game, we could have been looking at a totally different 2012 season from Robinson.

When Robinson was healthy, he capitalized on most of his opportunities and he shined in 2012 . The greatest aspect of Robinson’s game is his game breaking speed and ability to stretch the field. In that way, he reminds me of a young Santana Moss. Both had elite speed when entering the NFL, but neither were elite route runners. Last season, he caught two touchdown passes longer than 45 yards in back-to-back games. It certainly helps when he has a quarterback who has the ability to make any throw.

We know Robinson has the speed, and if he can improve his route running this off-season, #11 could be in for a very special 2013 campaign. With Robinson’s speed and RGIII’s strong arm, we could start to see Santana’s replacement grow up right before our eyes.

Robinson has a bright, bright future. I believe he will become a breakout player in 2013. He just needs to stay healthy and take advantage of his playing time. As Robinson showed us last year versus the Saints, Eagles and Cowboys, he has the tools to blow the tops off of defenses all season long.
