Back on October 6th, 2010, Washington Wizards owner Ted Leonsis wrote a post on his blog Ted’s Take titled The Wisdom of Our Crowds – 101 To Do List Final.

The overall post was a list of 101 things Wizards fans had asked for, and to let everyone know that changes were coming and that their voice was being heard.

There were many good ideas on the list, including fresher popcorn, colder beer, and better iPhone connectivity.  But to me, the biggest thing that jumped out on the list happened to be #31.

Now Ted didn’t say anything about actually changing the team name back to the Bullets, but the fact that it was mentioned means he knows it is a big deal to the fans.  To me, the “Under consideration” means that it is not totally out of the question.

What die hard fan of Washington basketball wouldn’t want to see the name changed back to the Washington Bullets?

Fans over at Wizards Extreme posted a thread, including a petition, to try and change the garner votes to help try and get the name changed back to the Bullets.  With a lofty goal of 10,000 signatures, the petition sort of died out at 180 signatures.

The purpose of this article is to see if we can get the petition going again.  Wizards fans are lucky to have an owner who is tuned into social media, and gives regular fans like you and me a chance to “have a voice.”

This is your chance to contribute, and to try and help assure Mr. Leonsis knows how strongly DC basketball fans feel about changing the name of their franchise back to the Washington Bullets.
