The Washington Wizards certainly miss Bradley Beal’s versatility and consistent outside shooting, but it’s become clear to me over the last week that John Wall is this teams most important player.
When John Wall returned from his knee injury the team immediately started winning and he was doing everything well. Wall was scoring, rebounding and assisting like an all-star point guard. John hit a wall for a few weeks where he struggling to get consistent scoring and struggling to knock down his jump shot consistently, but even then John still set up his teammates well, especially Bradley Beal during his hot streak last month.
Bradley Beal has missed the last 6 games due to an ankle injury. The first few games that Beal missed it was clear the team was struggling to find scoring without him. The last three games though, John Wall has caught fire, carried his team on his back and led the Wizards to victories.
Over the last 3 games John Wall is making his case to being considered an elite point guard. Without Beal in the line up Wall is shooting 59% from the floor, averaging 26 points, 11 assists and 6 rebounds over the past 3 games. He’s even made a few three point shots!
John is proving he is this teams most important player and is making a strong case to be mentioned amongst the elite point guards in the NBA.
